Government and Non-Profit Organizations Support Healthy Eating and Active Living

Although Colorado remains one of the leanest states in the nation, rates of obesity are on the rise. Non-profits like LiveWell Colorado and Weigh & Win from Kaiser Permanente and the Tri-County Health Department's "Communities Putting Prevention to Work" are just a few that offer significant city-wide policy, systems and environmental changes in schools and communities.

LiveWell Colorado

LiveWell Colorado is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing obesity in Colorado by promoting healthy eating and active living. In addition to educating and inspiring people to make healthy choices, LiveWell Colorado focuses on policy, environmental and lifestyle changes that remove barriers and increase access to healthy behaviors. Ensuring that every community has access to healthy, affordable food and helping kids become more physically active.


Weigh & Win

Weigh and Win is a new community program from Kaiser Permanente that is available for FREE to all Coloradans age 18 and older. Weigh and Win is a program that pays individuals to achieve a healthy weight. If already at a healthy weight, individuals will be eligible to receive prizes and coupons for maintaining it.

Weigh and Win is a health program that helps incorporate healthy eating and exercise habits in to a daily routine so that anyone can achieve and maintain a healthy weight for life. Success is measured and tracked through quarterly weigh-ins at kiosks conveniently located throughout the community. 

The Centennial Location is at the Goodson Recreation Center at 6315 South University Blvd. at deKoevend Park.
