Personal History: I didn't get prepared at all. I got drafted! They were kind enough to let me finish college and two weeks later I was standing at attention!

Place of Recruitment: I was "inducted" in Denver, Colorado

Branch of Service: U.S. Air Force 1956-60

Class: Sergeant

Military Occupation: Personnel specialist

Service History: Fort Bliss, Texas (basic training, Sept. 1956); Fort Eustis, Virginia (transportation corps, Jan. 1957). Active reserves for two more years, done in 1960.

They had a really good mess hall and I gained 20 pounds.

My best friend from college and I had a car together and I could get three-day passes to visit Washington, D.C. 

Our commanding general's last name was Lincoln and he was a grand-nephew of President Lincoln.

Commendations & Honors: Good conduct medal. "I was too far down in the ranks to get anything else."

Present Location: Centennial, Colorado

What’s Your Centennial Connection? My dad was transferred to Denver in 1949 and we've been back and forth since then.
