1. Developers Presented Vision to City Council

December 3, 2018

The presentation was informational only. No formal request was made, and no decision was made. 


Presentation Highlights: 

-  Significant growth is expected in the Denver South Metro region by 2035 

-  The Jones District is Centennial’s best opportunity to accommodate this growth and compete in the South I25 corridor for jobs, investment, and identity

- The Regulating Plan needs to be amended to make The Jones District more competitive


2. Small Group Meeting #1 with HOA Representatives

February 21, 2019

City staff and the development team met with a group of 10 representatives from HOAs in the area to gain an initial understanding of opportunities and constraints associated with future development at The Jones District. 


3. Pre-Submittal Meeting 

March 6, 2019

The development team met with City Staff and Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority (SEMSWA) to discuss the proposed Regulating Plan amendments, learn about the process and requirements, and share feedback received from the small group. 


4. Community Meeting 

March 28, 2019

The development team shared their vision and solicited feedback from meeting attendees.

Meeting announcements were provided 2 weeks prior to:
- Contacts for registered neighborhoods and civic associations within 1 mile
- CenCON
- Adjacent property owners within 200 ft of site

Meeting information was also shared on Centennial’s social media channels. 


5. Formal Submittal: Staff & Public Review  

First submittal received May 10, 2019

The development team submits proposed Regulating Plan amendments to City Staff and stakeholders for review. Once all City Staff comments are addressed, public hearings will be scheduled.

6. Small Group Meeting #2 with HOA Representatives

May 30, 2019

City staff and the development team will meet for a 2nd time with the same small group members to review the submittal and address any outstanding concerns.


7. Planning & Zoning Commission Public Hearing 

Expected Summer/Fall 2019

The Planning and Zoning Commission will determine if the proposed Regulating Plan amendments meet the criteria listed in the Land Development Code and either recommend approval or denial to City Council. 

Meeting announcements will be shared with the same people and in the same format as the Community Meeting. 


8. City Council Public Hearing 

Expected Summer/Fall 2019

City Council will determine if the proposed Regulating Plan amendments meet the criteria listed in the Land Development Code, and either approve or deny the amendments. 

Meeting announcements will be shared with the same people and in the same format as the Community Meeting.
